The HP SureStore dat40e is a
fairly typical tape drive, however, I am the owner of a very unique
one. The picture to the left shows a typicaly dat40e from HP.
However, I am the owner of a demo model that was never used. What is
a demo model you might ask? No, it is not a used model. It is
an tape drive that has a clear casing so that you can see all of its inner
workings. The model I own, in fact, looks distinctly similar to an
HP DDS-3 tape drive based on the button shape and the drive cover on
it. However, it is, in fact, truly a DDS-4 tape drive.
